Megan Sandberg-Zakian’s 90’s-inspired production featured queer themes with a lesbian Benedick and Beatrice, as well as reframing Leonato and Antonio as a gay couple. Complete with hip-hop dance numbers, this production brought pure joy to the Boston Common every night!
Much Ado About Nothing was nominated for The Boston Theatre Critics Association Elliot Norton Awards in the following categories for a large theatre: Outstanding Production, Outstanding Leading Performance - Tia James, Outstanding Featured Performance - Debra Wise, Outstanding Director, Outstanding Scenic Design, Outstanding Lighting Design, Outstanding Costume Design.
